why do movies still portray casual sex, and rarely show the consequences? STDs!?
Posted in movies news and reports by admin at 7:20 am |

There is cheating, there are one nite stands, there are trial separations where people have sex with new partners during that time, and consider going back to their original partner… and there is rarely ever any talk of someone becoming infected. Usually, condom use is not shown, and 1 in 5 people have herpes!! Movies are not portraying our society accurately in this regard. it is all about feelings and love, and never about the negative consequences. even Lifetime channel doesn’t have any movies about this! Sex can be disastrous, and even deadly!

Think about Tiger Woods - how can Elin possibly take him back before he is tested for every single STD out there! and some have a 3 month window before a test will be accurate…

Did you ever see Kids? That was a great movie for showing consequences of unsafe sex.

SDTs are a part of life and not to be taken lightly. However- condoms are easy to use- and tests are easy to come by. They’re not a huge part of our lives- and certainly not a huge enough plot to be written into every movie.

If you feel strongly about it- go ahead and write your own films that deal with STDs in a way that tells the story as you see it.

Because every movie shouldn’t be like what they used to show in health class. Parents and children should be talking about this in an ongoing conversation. They should teach it in school, too. Also, people having unprotected sex should blame themselves for being irresponsible. The media gets blamed too much for things people should control themselves.

Its sad isnt it, that Hollywood can be so deceptive and ultimately disgusting. It’s right, sex does sell, but more importantly they’re selling us and we are worth a lot to the entertainment industry. Unfortunately being reminded that –if you sleep with that guy you met at the bar he might give you an STD, get you pregnant, or other undesirable consequences…isnt something that sells nearly as well.
Why do you think it is that 13, 14, 15 year olds watch these prime time television shows and then begin having sex? Because everything in society says that it is OK..from television to movies to billboards and other advertisements. Sex isnt a big deal, its a norm.
Television has become a source of instant gratification of all kinds and that is why I watch it as little as possible.
Oh, and I’d like to say that "yes" parents are suppose to talk to their kids and get the point accross that television doesnt show sex accurately etc etc…but unfortunately not many parents are doing that. And those consequences will live with us all.

Elin won’t get anything she doesn’t deserved for screwing Tiger, to begin with.

The Bible teaches that "the whole world is lying in the power of the wicked one." (1 John 5:19) This wicked one has influence on mainstream media and does not have any regard for the well-being on anyone. In fact, another Bible writed describes the Devil as "a roaring lion seeking to devour someone." - 1 Peter 5:8

Most people live the ostrich life with their head in the sand when trouble is approaching when they should be using their best asset and run from casual sexual intercourse like they would run from the gates of hell. By the way the gate of hell is actually the grave and not a place of eternal torment. Man has a brain and he should use it. The wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life. Romans 6;3
Parents do have the responsibility to educate themselves probably as well as to instruct their children instead of taking rearguard action. Just providing contraceptive knowledge is not enough. They need to provide a good example in their own lives, taking into consideration that marriage vows should be kept and having intercourse with a life long partner is by far the best kind of married life to have in order to raise children to seek life long faithful marriages themselves.
What I have just written might not make the best sellers list but it more likely, if followed, to guide someone to a more sane and happier STD free life.
